There will be a General Meeting on Monday July 29 at 7:30 (immediately after Puppy Kindy) in the Clubhouse. All members are invited to attend. Nibblies will be served.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and approve the Club's new Rules of Association, previously called the Constitution. Changes to the Qld Associations Incorporation Act require us to modify our Constitution in relatively minor ways. Dogs Queensland has provided extensive guidance to affiliated clubs and created a model document that meets the requirement of the amended law. At our Club, a working group led by Vanora Appleby has spent several months adapting the document to fit our needs. The proposed Rules of Association for Gold Coast Dog Obedience Training Club can be found on the Members Facebook page. If you can't access the document, email cynthiaf@bigpond.net.au to request the file. Please have a look before coming to discuss and vote. Thanks for your interest in and support of our Club.

If you are starting Canine Companion Class the first week of the month, be sure that you have downloaded the class manual and watched the narrated video as directed in your registration confirmation email. There are important concepts you need to learn, things you need to start teaching your dog, and information about what to bring that you should think about before the Week 1 class. Doing the pre-work allows for a smooth start to the class so everyone gets the most possible benefit from the experience.

When we receive payment for a class an event registration email will be sent to your nominated email address. This email contains the class manual, what to bring and other important information about your class. It is imperative that the person bringing the dog to training class reads this email. Please check your junk mail or spam folder and notify us immediately if you have not received this email.
